Day 1:
Arrive at OR Thambo International Airport at
Johannesburg. Connecting flight to George from where
you will transfer to your hotel in Plettenberg Bay
or Knysna.
Remainder of day at leisure.
Day 2:
Visit Plettenberg Bay, South Africa's most popular
holiday destination and then proceed to the Tsitsikamma
Forest, an indigenous forest with giant yellowwood trees,
lush vegetation and deep gorges. Travel through
the magnificent Nature's Valley and Bloukrans Pass and
visit the "Big Tree" an 800 year old yellowwood. At the
Storms River mouth there are several short walking
trails into the forest.
Day 3:
This morning enjoy an unforgettable 4 hour tour of
the Featherbed Nature Reserve. This private nature reserve
is accessible only by ferry and the excursion includes
the ferry trip across the Knysna Lagoon to the reserve,
a 4x4 trailer ride to the top of the Western Head of Knysna
and an optional 2,2km walk down the "Bush Buck" trail,
through milkwood forests, onto the sandstone cliffs and
into the historic beachcomber caves.
After lunch do an ocean safari at Plettenberg Bay,
visit Monkeyland and the adjacent Birds of Eden or the
Tenikwe Wildlife Awareness Centre.
Day 4:
Depart Plettenberg Bay/Knysna for Oudtshoorn, known
as the ostrich capital of the world. Visit the Cango Caves,
a magical journey through massive caverns and fascinating
limestone formations, an ostrich farm and the CP Nel Museum.
Late afternoon flight to Cape Town
Transfer to your hotel on the sea front.
Day 5:
Today you'll discover why Cape Town is known as one of
the most beautiful cities in the world. Sightseeing
will include a cable-car ride to the top of Table Mountain for
breathtaking sweeping views over the Cape Peninsula; and
then on to Cape Point. Stop en route at the granite
boulders that are found along this magnificent coast,
with wonderful views of the Twelve Apostles and the back
of Table Mountain. On to Hout Bay, a charming
fishing village from one can board a boat (weather permitting) to
Duiker Island to see the mass of Cape Fur Seals. At the
Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve take the funicular to
the top for spectacular views over the False Bay coast,
while enjoying the fynbos and many baboons in the
reserve. On to Boulders Beach to visit the largest
colony of Jackass Penguins in Africa, returning to
the city via Simonstown and the scenic Boyes
Drive.
Day 6:
Spend the day touring in the winelands, with its backdrop
of majestic mountain ranges and lush valleys. Stop
for cellar tours and tastings where one has the opportunity
to purchase wines. Visit the Village museum at Stellenbosch,
the "town of oaks" and South Africa's second
oldest town; a scenic drive over the Helshoogte Pass takes
one to Franschhoek, nestled in the valley where the French
Huguenots first settled. Return to Cape Town via
Paarl.
Day 7:
Fly from Cape Town to Nelspruit. Transfer by road or light
aircraft to a private game lodge for a 2-night stay.
The game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles with an experienced
ranger and tracker offer exciting sightings of Africa's
"Big 5" plus a host of other animals and magnificent
birdlife.
Day 8:
Activities as per game lodge - game drives
and an optional bush walk, accompanied by an armed
ranger. Learn about the flora and fauna and enjoy
the freedom and tranquillity of the bush.
Day 9:
After your early morning game drive and breakfast it's
time to pack your bags for flight to Johannesburg. Proceed
to International Departures for return Trans-Atlantic
flight.

Day 1:

Depart early for a full day's tour to the Chobe National
Park, Botswana, home of some of the largest elephant herds
in Africa. Cruise on the Chobe River with a chance of
spotting elephant and other game species coming to drink
and bathe in the river, as well as many bird species.
After lunch enjoy a game drive in an open vehicle - see
large elephant herds, lion, buffalo as well as numerous
plains species.
Day 4:
Guided tour of the Falls. Whether gazing at the
Falls, sodden from the spray of the rain forest, looking
down on its mists from a helicopter, microlite of hot-air
balloon, the Falls always evoke awe. This natural wonder,

see" for any serious traveller. Return flight to
